Bean Selection & Sourcing

At Narasu’s, manufacturing is not just a process — it is the foundation of every promise we make to our partners. With two fully integrated facilities in Salem, Tamil Nadu, we maintain complete control from green bean to final shipment — no outsourcing, no compromise.

Every great cup of coffee begins with the right bean. Narasu’s sources green coffee from carefully selected origins, prioritising consistency, flavour profile, and crop reliability. Our procurement team evaluates each lot for moisture, density, colour, and cup quality before it enters our supply chain.

PROCESSING

Precision at Every Stage

Roast & Ground Processing :

Our R&G facility processes coffee through comprehensive stages including bean cleaning, precision roasting to defined profiles, controlled grinding to exact particle sizes, blend formulation, and automated packing — all executed in an integrated, seamless flow designed to ensure high consistency with minimal manual involvement.

Instant Coffee Processing :

Our instant coffee facility runs a fully automated line covering roasting, grinding, extraction, evaporation, aroma recovery, spray drying, agglomeration for granulated formats, and packing. The Aroma Recovery Unit captures and reinfuses natural volatile compounds, preserving the authentic aroma profile of freshly brewed coffee.

Narasu’s operates dedicated in-house quality control laboratories at both manufacturing units. Every batch of production undergoes multi-stage testing before release — from incoming raw materials through intermediate processing to finished product approval.

Answers For You.

Frequently Asked Questions.

  • What is Narasu's total coffee manufacturing capacity?
Narasu's operates two major manufacturing facilities with a combined annual capacity of over 10,500 metric tonnes of coffee. Our Roast & Ground facility has a capacity of 3,000 MT per year, and our Instant Coffee facility has a capacity of 7,500 MT per year.
  • Is all manufacturing done in-house, or do you outsource any processes?
All manufacturing is 100% in-house. From green bean sourcing and storage through roasting, grinding, extraction, drying, blending, and packaging — every process is carried out at our own facilities in Salem. We do not outsource any part of production, which gives us complete control over quality, traceability, and supply reliability.
  • What quality control systems do you have in place?
We operate dedicated in-house quality control laboratories at both manufacturing units. Every batch undergoes multi-stage testing — physical, chemical, and sensory evaluation — before release. Our team of qualified lab chemists and professional cup tasters analyses every production run. Our facilities are also certified to FSSC 22000 and ISO 22000, ensuring systematic food safety management throughout.
  • What is the Aroma Recovery Unit, and why does it matter?
During the extraction and evaporation stages of instant coffee manufacturing, natural aromatic compounds can be lost — resulting in a flat or muted flavour profile. Our Aroma Recovery Unit captures these volatile aromatic compounds and reintroduces them into the final product before drying. This ensures that our instant coffee retains the natural aroma character of freshly brewed coffee — a significant quality differentiator.
  • Can buyers visit the manufacturing facility?
Yes. We welcome buyer visits and facility audits. Our facilities are maintained to international food safety standards and are fully equipped to receive trade delegations, third-party auditors, and prospective partners. Please contact our export team to arrange a visit.
  • How does Narasu's ensure batch-to-batch consistency for export orders?
Consistency is built into our process at every stage — from standardised roasting profiles and controlled extraction parameters to automated blending and packaging lines. Every batch is tested against defined specifications before release. We provide a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) with every shipment, documenting the quality parameters of the specific batch supplied.
  • What sourcing standards do you apply to green coffee beans?
Green coffee is sourced from proven, reliable origins — with each lot evaluated for moisture content, density, colour, defect count, and cup quality before acceptance. We maintain climate-controlled raw material warehousing to preserve bean quality prior to processing. Our sourcing team works to ensure supply consistency and to match bean profiles to specific product formulations.
